PRIMARY CHARACTERISTICS

The Business Analyst Lead is part of the Business Operations Support & Services group supporting EverBank's Home Lending Division (Retail, Retail Direct, Correspondent) in partnership with Post-Closing, Change Management, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, Credit Risk, Quality Control, IT and others. This position supports the business in determining and documenting requested changes to the Home Lending Loan Origination System (LOS).  This role is tasked with interacting with the business and identifying the needs to enhance the business process and/or provide solutions to business problems in alignment with a project plan or request that is determined by the Business Owner. Responsible for the coordination and completion of maintenance projects for Home Lending's LOS. Responsible for supporting Project Managers on larger scale initiatives. Coordinates and communicates activities associated with the execution of the business objective.  Responsible for the research and collection of requirements from business owners and delivery and execution against a project plan as determined by the Project Sponsor and/or Business Owner. Utilizes proven project management processes and methodologies ensuring that projects are delivered by high quality standards and meets Business Owner/Project Sponsor's expectations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of Encompass maintenance projects and tasks within project
  • Supports Project Managers on large scale initiatives; accountable for functional requirements documents, issues resolutions, and other required project documentation
  • Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in projects
  • Directs the overall strategic direction of Encompass maintenance projects within the monthly release process
  • Coordinates and manages resources across teams
  • Coordinates and communicates the activities associated with achieving the strategic direction of the business, which includes project plans, deliverable dates, and risks
  • Conducts regular project meetings to effectively communicate major milestones, obtain updates, discuss priorities, and bottlenecks or other issues which may affect a successful project delivery
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues when appropriate
  • Drafts status reports and communicates relevant information to upper management
  • Delivers informative and well organized presentations 
  • Researches, gathers, and defines accurate detailed business requirements and functional requirements based on project objectives
  • Defines technical and system requirements supporting Encompass 360 projects
  • Manages, documents, and communicates changes in business requirements
  • Tracks progress and adjusts project plans to meet the project schedules and deliverables; escalates needed changes in resource requirements
  • Provides leadership and drives the project team to meet the project timelines
  • Coordinates, manages, and conducts User Acceptance Testing with the appropriate business users
  • Maintains and prioritizes multiple  maintenance projects with minimal supervision
  • Assists the business management team and the business trainer with preparation for user training classes or the creation of user documents as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • Leadership abilities including ability to share knowledge, resolve conflict, and create consensus
  • Strong ability to take ownership of assigned tasks and responsibilities and appropriately prioritize
  • Advanced knowledge of all aspects of the mortgage origination process
  • Must have strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as delivery skills for presentations, business timelines, and training
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, specifically the ability to communicate and interact effectively with all staffing levels
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working independently
  • Must have the ability to work accurately and efficiently under intense time pressure
  • Must be able to maintain planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate flexibility to meet the needs of the business by working extended hours when necessary (early morning, evenings, weekends, holidays, etc.)
  • Must have the ability to exercise independent judgment in order to manage varied complex projects from inception through completion
  • Must have the ability to learn quickly and comprehend many technical and business concepts
  • Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, primarily in Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • 5-7 years' experience in field of mortgage banking required with emphasis on production operations
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
  • Ellie Mae Encompass 360 experience preferred
  • 1-2 years of Project Management experience preferred
  • Project leadership/management experience, system support, and business specifications
  • Experience in Software Technology and Software Development Life Cycle
