FP&A Center of Excellence Team
Reshaping the future of FP&A at Verizon, calls for improving our ability to deliver exceptional value to our customers. Being a part of the Center of Excellence (COE) team you will work alongside financial professionals and business leaders, gaining opportunities to grow and develop to build a strong FP&A foundation. You will be involved in, target setting, reporting & analysis, planning and forecasting, and guiding the strategic direction across Verizon.   • Guide the overall strategic direction of Planning & Forecasting business process and system improvement opportunities, including governance and refinement of FP&A processes, reporting standards, and communication of findings to leadership teams.
  • Represent FP&A interest in governance of master data and metrics.
  • Align business needs with FP&A Planning systems capabilities, define services & customer expectations, and ensure deliveries of services are aligned with those expectations in partnership with Financial Systems Group and Business Unit management teams.
  • Accountable to make the final decisions and recommendations to ensure quality, delivery and documentation of all Business Process & System Improvements deliverables.
  • Responsible for the identification and documentation of business, functional, and data requirements for Planning & Forecasting processes.
  • Adhere to the data and systems governance, data integrity, and data security guidelines.
  • Manage workload capacity and bandwidth of Business Process Improvement Center of Excellence discipline, deploying to ensure the quality and timely delivery of services.
  • Provide accountability and management oversight on training sessions for process and system improvement.
  • Drive implementation of process and systems improvement in coordination with the Financial Services Group (FSG).
  • Responsible to lead the testing of all functional and technical Business FP&A and Center of Excellence requirements for Planning & Forecasting processes and communicates status updates and/or results with the customer(s).
  • Lead post-mortem assessment and sets parameters for monitoring implemented process and system improvements.
  • Manage the employee life cycle processes (Recruiting, Performance, Development, Career and Compensation).
  • Present and communicate to all levels of the business.

Qualifications

Must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Math, Finance, Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, Information Science or equivalent work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience with a strong management background.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on Access and Excel.
  • Thorough understanding of the Planning processes and experience with driver-based planning models.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • A Master's degree in Math, Finance, Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or Information Science.
  • Experience managing Planning systems (Hyperion Planning preferred); and OLAP (Essbase ASO & BSO preferred) and/or relational database systems.
  • Certifications: Six Sigma, Oracle/Hyperion, CBIP, CBAP and/or PMP certification.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and presentation skills with the proven ability to focus on the details.
  • Demonstrated management skills with the proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Advanced experience and understanding in the design and interaction of business systems, data architecture, data sets, and applications.
  • Experience with business requirements gathering, integrative thinking, process definition, and deployment of business requirements to information systems. Familiarity with SDLC processes.
  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and project management.Knowledge in the usage of OBIEE, Tableau, SQL, and/or similar tools.
