Position Summary

Under general supervision performs standard and some advanced administrative duties. Generally reports to multiple individuals, or may report to a Department or Division Head. Basic duties may include receiving and logging information, making copies, sorting and distributing mail, preparing correspondence or basic documents, answering routine questions and inquiries, providing information and directions and providing a service oriented environment. Activities are routine but may involve non-routine requests or specialized information.  
 

Job Functions

  1. Assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors by handling their requests and providing routine information. Provides excellent customer service support.
  2. Collects and processes data and performs basic mathematical calculations.
  3. Assists with data entry as needed. Inputs department class schedules.
  4. Assists in planning departmental events, programs and activities.
  5. Scans and distributes mail.
  6. Communicates with and represents the College to students, the public and other external sources. This information may be exchanged in person, in writing, by telephone, or e-mail.
  7. May schedule tentative appointments.
  8. Coordinates with other administrative, maintenance, or clerical employees in own department or throughout the college to accomplish such routine activities as ordering supplies and monitoring inventories, obtaining approvals, and arranging for document duplication and equipment repair.
  9. Maintains efficient office work flow.
  10. Attends job training as needed.
  11. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent and at least 2 years of related work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree  
  • Oracle experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to prioritize own work, to work with minimal supervision and to maintain confidential information.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks, projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Skilled in the use of microcomputers and related software for word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.  

Salary

$10.61 per hour (not to exceed 19.5 hours per week)
