As a Business Analyst, you'll manage and drive processes and improvement initiatives to support the Optum Coordination of Benefits (COB) Operations team.

This high energy position affords you the ability to serve as a subject matter expert in the Medicare, Employer & Individual, and Medicaid COB line of business, solve moderately complex issues in order to meet stakeholder expectations and financial goals. Youll assist in implementation of solutions to enhance productivity, improve quality and customer satisfaction. By researching and documenting business requirements and utilizing your sharp analytical skills to fulfill the needs of the business and/or clients, you will have an impact on healing the health care system. Primary Responsibilities:

Conduct all needed research, problem solving and requirements-gathering activities with business and technical stakeholders to identify, collect and document specific business requirements (i.e., business, functional and non-functional)

Conduct current analysis to gather current business, functional and non-functional requirements and constraints (i.e., "as-is" state)

Define and document desired future requirements using appropriate tools/processes (e.g., "to-be" process maps) based on input from all applicable stakeholders.

Adhere to established project lifecycle standards

Develop business data flows, process flows, project plans to analyze/confirm the definition of project requirements

Identify the business impact of process/system changes, using appropriate tools as needed

Identify operational impact and capability gaps between current state and desired state (e.g., operational)

Ensure that project requirements are clearly and comprehensively documented, understood, communicated and support traceability

Ensure that project requirements meet all applicable Medicaid & Medicare regulations and requirements.

Communicate ongoing updates to all stakeholders to ensure understanding of and alignment with project status/changes

Support and contribute to the identification/prioritization of business/process solutions

Seek opportunities to improve operating efficiencies/effectiveness

Support ongoing operations/maintenance/enhancement of existing solutions, in partnership with applicable stakeholders (e.g., IT, business owners/ partners, vendors)

Establish and perform testing scenarios and provide direction to developers to ensure requirements are adhered to.

Provide ongoing support and tracking to ensure proper implementation and adoption of the solution

Support ongoing monitoring and adjustment of project scope/timelines/dependencies

Develop and/or contribute to training programs to support implementation of the solution

Ensure that identified solutions meet business requirements for all applicable stakeholders (e.g., traceability)

Will be responsible for communicating with leadership and stakeholders, including being able to do presentations.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration, related field or equivalent experience

1+ years of experience with project methodology (i.e., SDLC: requirements, design, development, test and implementation)

COB (Coordination of Benefits) experience with other health plans

Experience in analysis of business processes and workflow

Intermediate level of proficiency with Excel
Preferred Qualifications:

United Healthcare core system knowledge

1+ years experience gathering business requirements from the client/business and documenting

Demonstrate and apply understanding of UnitedHealth Group's business (e.g., specific business capabilities, functions, processes and business cycles).

Visio experience a plus

UAT experience preferred

Ability to communicate to management and stakeholders

Ability to problem solve including multiple priorities and research conflicting and/or inaccurate data

Demonstrated, proficient diplomacy and verbal and written communications skills in presenting analysis, including trends and opportunities, when addressing and presenting to leadership, stakeholders and business partners.

Demonstrate and apply understanding of health care industry trends and their drivers
