Waste Connections Sourcing and Strategic Initiative Talent will support the following efforts:

  • Deliver high quality Controllers, Operations Managers, Sales Reps and Engineering candidates by utilizing strategic sourcing methodologies, business intelligence, internal and external networks, professional organizations, social media, branding initiatives, and technology tools in support of strategic business objectives in partnership with Recruiters and Hiring managers.
  • Provide and manage the full spectrum of recruitment sourcing services for the businesses that make up Waste Connections across North America.  
  • Maintain accurate, updated and compliant information in employment management systems.  
  • Through excellent service delivery and expert consultation, gain the trust and confidence of candidates, recruiters, hiring managers and HR
  • Exercise appropriate discretion in the expenditure of company resources related to the recruiting/sourcing process, ensuring the appropriate risk/benefit and/or return on investment is provided for expenditures. 
  • Tracks source of hire and agency spend
  • Builds relationships with key Universities,  Military Installations and attend Career Fairs to establish our presence as an Employer of Choice
  • Seek to build internships programs in support of the business in particular for Controllers, Engineering and Sales
  • Develops and markets our brand with  a targeted approach
  • Subject Matter Expert on Sourcing brings forward innovative techniques

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required along with 7 years of experience in a recruiting or sourcing role either in a corporate or agency setting.  

  • Demonstrated capability in high-volume recruiting is required.  

  • Previous experience in developing Recruitment Programs (University Relations, Internships, D&I Initiatives, Military Recruitment Programs) is required.

  • Experience with social media recruiting methods, candidate pipelining, cold calling, RPO recruiting, marketing analytics and/or vendor management are preferred.  

  • Experience or training in Targeted Selection/Behavioral Interviewing is preferred.  

  • Experience with Workday or other similar Applicant Tracking Systems is required.  

  • Moderate to Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills are highly desired.  

  • Strong analytical skills, demonstrated interpersonal skills, and the ability to work competently both individually and as a team member is required.  

  • Demonstrate ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and work with highly confidential information is required.  

  • Up to approximately 25% of travel time may be required.
