This position plays a pivotal role in the Clinical Affairs Group by driving development and execution of Clinical Product Strategy.The Vice President, Clinical PharmacyProducts is responsible for the vision, strategy, planning, and business results ofthe Clinical suite of products. They will lead the team responsible for managing the strategic and tactical needs of all products in the suite and for developing new products to differentiate OptumRx in the PBM market.This individual and team will drive increased market share for Optum Rx products in general and ensure maximum uptake in OptumRxs client base.The VP will also have direct or indirect oversight of product deliveryas related to the areas operationalizing products to ensure the customer experience is consistent with product standards.They will interact with various leaders across the organization to drive the success of Clinical products. This position serves as a member of the Clinical Leadership Team driving the direction of the Clinical Affairs organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead the cross-product and cross-market strategic planning and product roadmap processes for Clinical Products
Spearhead and provide strategic leadership in "build versus buy versus partner" analyses for new offerings or new markets
Develop the business case to support new product development and enhancements to current products
Partner with Marketing to improve product intel and feedback mechanisms (e.g. win/loss) to ensure product strategy is effectively informed by the voice of the customer
Drive innovation and exceptional customer experience into product requirements
Manage product planning and execution processes that deliver predictable results and meet roadmap commitments and that properly consider alignment and collaboration with greater Optum organization as applicable
Partner with enterprise Product Management partners to standardize tools to evaluate new product ideas, prototype with targeted customers, and to track and analyze product results
Partner with enterprise Product Management partners to utilize a company-wide commercialization and launch plan process to include all impacted departments in its execution
Direct product managers in understanding, prioritizing and communicating product strategies and priorities in terms of business value to customers as well as internally to OptumRx cross-functional teams
Drive collaborative processes with Marketing and Sales to define go-to-market strategy, product positioning, and pricing strategies
Ensure compliant and effective delivery of service and operational components of clinical products and programs; create an environment of continuous quality improvement to deliver positive outcomes and ongoing improvements in program efficiency
Provide oversight and direction for Product Management, Business Process, Product Support, and Technology teams enabling and supporting Clinical Products-- including hiring, mentoring, motivating and managing their performance
Engage in coaching and team building behaviors that foster development of a highly engaged, high performance team within the product organization

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required, Master's degree preferred
10+ years PBM or healthcare experience inclusive of product development/management
3+ years leadership experience in product management (healthcare preferred)
Chicago or Minneapolis or Irvine residence or relocationrequired
Adept in defining/communicating strategic product vision aligned with corporate strategy and business department goals
Strong financial acumen within market segment analysis used to define market opportunities and implement successful sales goals
Ability to engage with and develop impactful working relationships with broad array of staff, leaders, clients, prospects
Ability to effectively create and execute in a timely fashion upon design, development, and oversee delivery plans for initiatives within budget
Highly skilled in the interpretation of large, complex data and facilitating feedback to drive improvements in products and operations
Accomplished influencer and presenter with various leadership audiences
Ability to manage cross-functional teams including IT resources, in effort to facilitate and ensure expected outcome
Demonstrated successful leadership track, expansion of responsibilities, including staff management, development and management or direct oversight of large groups/teams
Travel approximately 25% for business/client meetings
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Experience leading software product management preferred
