Manager, New Business (SMB) - Cision , US

The Manager, New Business (SMB) will create and lead a new business sales strategy to win new business through direct sales efforts, marketing, business partnerships and alliances, integration of strategic acquisitions, and service line enhancements.

  • Someone who understands the "Big Picture" - As a manager, we must make decisions that are best for business. This means making sure your team is closing good deals for this business and that there will be times you may have to make decisions that might not favor you, but are for the betterment of the company.
  • Someone who is Engaging - Engage your team in team meetings, huddles, sales contests, team challenges. Get engaged with your reps and their prospects. Get on live phone calls , listen in or being an additional live resource on the call. This is where we can help develop our sales reps the most.


Main Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Direct the efforts of new business development specialists within targeted addressable market.
  • Develop and implement strategic new business plan and national sales philosophy
  • Recruiting, training, and development of team
  • Train staff in adopted Cision sales methodologies, techniques, and service lines
  • Develop strategic new business direction and assist in managing the marketing communications functions
  • Serve as sales team resource for product, process, industry and competitive information through coaching, training and ongoing management.
  • Maintain and expand positive interdepartmental communication and teamwork, also ensuring that the client experience is seamless
  • Consistent achievement of team goals
  • Accurate and on-time   forecast reporting
  • Effectively lead your   Account Executive Team   to success hitting monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals


Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of information services or software industry related sales experience focused on development of new business versus account management
  • Ex perience utilizing/teaching Miller-Heiman or SPIN selling techniques preferred
  • E xperience managing an inside and outside team of new business sales professionals is preferred
  • Proficiency using a variety of software applications on daily basis
  • Experience selling SaaS products


Education and Additional Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration preferred
  • Must have strong closing ability and be able to demonstrate that during an interview
  • Comfortabl e with frequent public speaking
  • Consistently meet or exceed team targets and have the data to prove it
  • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
