Currently, we are seeking a talented New Business Supervisor to join the Life Insurance Division in Bloomington, Minnesota. The Life Insurance Division works with financial and insurance professionals to give families and businesses the life insurance coverage needed to help meet important financial protection, wealth accumulation, and wealth preservation goals.
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
 
 

  • Supervises employees engaged in administrative duties (e.g., new business processing, policy services, and  general clerical) for the National Sales Office.
  • Resolve escalated and non-routine new business, policy service, and contracting/commission questions. 
  • Communicate and model a sense of urgency and desire to help recruiters and producers.  Negotiate with Home Office and underwriting to provide the best possible solutions including improved underwriting offers and exceptions to established policies and procedures as appropriate.
  • Review staff processing of new business applications for accuracy, completeness, appropriateness of follow up activity and timely updates to producers. 
  • Maintain an awareness of status of concierge level and other high profile new business cases.
  • Actively manage workload of absent employees through direct work or delegation to ensure prompt, high quality service continues to be provided.
  • Manage the papers only submissions so that timely follow-ups are occurring and recruiters are aware of the cases.
  •   Ensure that staff members are appropriately trained and performing their job duties.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with RLO/NSO staff, recruiters, and Home Office.
  • Act as a role model and leader by  demonstrating professional workplace behavior including judgment, planning, accountability, flexibility, attendance, initiative, business conduct, and working relationships

 
 
FACTORS FOR SUCCESS:
                                                             
- 5-7 years of experience
- Proven leadership abilities, including developing, coaching and leading staff
- Ability to communicate complex, challenging messages in support of business decisions
- Solid problem solving, planning and decision making skills
- Life Insurance industry experience
